One of the oldest - if not the oldest - dessert recipe from Hungary. Chimney Cake (a.k.a. Kürtőskalács) is a 300 years old recipe from Hungary (Transylvania).
This special cake made from a soft yeast dough, covered with sugar and baked in a special rotisserie Chimney Cake oven where the sugar caramelizing on the
outer surface. When its ready, we can put different toppings on the still hot and sticky caramel surface like:
Cinnamon, Cocoa, Walnut, Coconut or our own specialty the freeze dried raspberries.
You can also have it with the plain caramel coating, as this is the traditional way together with the walnut coating.
Each cake is a 24 cm tall, and approx 8 cm wide "chimney".
